Types of Lace and Their Uses

What types of lace are there? The differences between knitted lace, cotton lace, baby lace and lace edging, and lace on towels, bed linen, baby products and clothing.

Types of Lace and Their Uses

What is lace?

Lace is an openwork, patterned trim made by knitting or working yarn. Sewn to the edge of a fabric, it gives a product an elegant finish. It is used in everything from home textiles to fashion.

Knitted lace

Knitted lace is durable and washable, which makes it the most popular type of lace for wholesale. Köksal Aksesuar's lace styles are knitted lace.

Cotton and baby lace

Cotton lace is made from natural yarn, so it is gentle on the skin and well suited to baby blankets, baby clothes, bodysuits and towel edges. Baby lace, with its fine, delicate patterns, stands out especially on baby products.

Lace edging and patterned lace

Lace edging is used on towels, bed linen, pillowcases, tablecloths and curtain edges. Ethnic and diamond-pattern lace styles give decorative products and clothing a distinctive look. See all our styles with their codes on our lace page.
